Candle Care

Our candles are lovingly made using centuries-old, traditional techniques. Each candle is hand-poured, exquisite and unique. With the right care, your MAJO Candle will be a thing of beauty and pleasure for many years to come. Our biggest candle, the RUMI, can achieve a burn time of more than 600 hours.

Just follow these simple tips to help prolong the life of your candle:

  • When you light your MAJO Candle for the first time, let it burn it for at least four hours or until an even pool of melted wax has formed across the surface. This will help your candle burn more evenly next time you light it.
  • When you put out your candle, dip the wick in the melted wax and straighten it up ready for the next time you want to light it. The wax creates a waterproof seal around the wick which will protect it from the elements and allow you to relight the candle with ease.
  • It is possible that very cold weather conditions or rapid drops in temperature could cause your candle to crack. For this reason, we recommend keeping your candle on a plate or base during use and not in direct contact with the ground which can cool quickly; keeping it covered  when not in use, and in temperatures below 10 C, insulating or bringing it inside for storage.
