Candle Care

Our candles are lovingly made using centuries-old, traditional techniques. Each candle is hand-poured, exquisite and unique. With the right care, your MAJO Candle will be a thing of beauty and pleasure for many years to come. Our biggest candle, the RUMI, can achieve a burn time of more than 600 hours.

Just follow these simple tips to help prolong the life of your candle:

  • When you light your MAJO Candle for the first time, let it burn it for at least 6-8 hours or until an even pool of melted wax has formed across the surface. This will help your candle burn more evenly next time you light it.
  • When you put out your candle, dip the wick in the melted wax and straighten it up ready for the next time you want to light it. The wax creates a waterproof seal around the wick which will protect it from the elements and allow you to relight the candle with ease.
  • It is possible that very cold weather conditions or rapid drops in temperature could cause your candle to crack. For this reason, we recommend keeping your candle on a plate or base during use and not in direct contact with the ground which can cool quickly; keeping it covered  when not in use and in temperatures below 10 C, insulating or bringing it inside for storage.
